Tree removal

Tree removal, L'Assomption

Cutting down a tree is a task that is done as a last resort. This is because trees improve our quality of life to such an extent that we cannot do without them. Few would argue with that fact. These precious large plants have the ability to relax us after a hard day's work. Sometimes all it takes is one look at their quiet green stability, to contemplate the landscape they help to compose, to listen to the rustle of the wind in their leaves, to refresh ourselves under the shade of their branches, to feel wonderfully soothed. And this is only a small sample of all the benefits they have to offer. The list of examples would be endless. But we don't need them to be convinced.

This is one of the reasons why it is not possible to remain cold at the thought of cutting down a tree. Nevertheless, there are circumstances where we cannot avoid the need to take this definitive action. Let's look at some situations where this is the case.

Tree felling dead trees

Let's start by saying that when a large plant is devoid of any breath of life, that it is dead in other words, then the tree must be cut down. This is quite easy to understand. In this condition, it is exposed to drying out, to being infested by parasites or fungi. So many conditions that can weaken it. From that moment, more or less important sections of the tree, maybe even the whole specimen, can fall. This is obviously an event with the potential to cause consequences of varying severity. Like injuring or killing people. Damage property, buildings, infrastructure; perhaps destroy them. Hindering the circulation of cars, bicycles, passers-by; and again, causing more or less tragic accidents. This supports the idea that not only should a dead tree be cut down, but that it should be done without delay.

Tree cutting diseased trees

When a tree is sick, when fungus or parasites attack it without killing it, it is possible that pruning will save it. However, this requires an intervention early enough so that the damage does not become incurable. Call Emondage L'Assomption at 579-795-2005 and let our experienced tree trimmers propose an intervention plan that is advantageous to you.

But be quick. Because any problem detected late is likely to be without return. Whatever the intervention applied, it will prevent a precariousness of your specimen, and therefore, at the same time, the consequences that can result from it. In the case where recovery is not possible, then it is better to cut down the tree victim without delay. Always with a view to safety.

Damage after high winds

When a major storm rages: lightning, hail, strong winds, heavy rainfall..., consequences to the trees can follow. For example, cracks appear. It is essential to pay attention to them in order to detect the ones that are likely to prevent the plant from facing the next caprice of the weather. This would be the case if a branch of sufficient size or weight became so fragile that it could fall. The same problems as those already mentioned could occur.

Sometimes, when the overall precariousness of the specimen is compromised, you can consider bracing. This will give the tree additional years of life. On the other hand, if this is not possible, you will have to cut down a tree that has been too badly damaged by a storm. Do we need to repeat why? Yes, for safety reasons.

Uprooted trees

Storms can also uproot trees. When their roots are completely out of the ground and the specimen is lying relatively horizontally: there is no doubt that it will not stand. However, if the roots are not completely out of the ground, what then? Stability remains the main criterion of analysis. If it is not compromised at all because the problem is not significant, little or no intervention will be necessary. But as soon as there is a certain precariousness of the stability, it is very likely that the felling of the tree is the only solution.

Misplaced Trees

A homeowner doesn't live in his or her own home without making plans from time to time. Your family would like to build a large traditional stone oven to bake bread and pizzas outdoors. But the only place where this could be done is under a beautiful maple tree. You know we don't cut down trees just to satisfy a whim. Anyway, you love this big plant that paints your yard with shimmering colors every fall. But you've been carrying this project around for years. And always the idea of a cut stopped you. But the project refuses to leave your mind. Even the desire keeps growing, becoming more insistent.

Before deciding to cut down your tree or to do so out of a momentary impatience, it would be a good idea to consult us in order to evaluate if a pruning, or even a trimming, of this tree or of another one, could not allow you to make your dream come true.

Tree that hinders the growth of other trees

There is one last case to present. The one where the branches of two specimens are now firmly entangled. You don't even know which tree each of them belongs to anymore. At this stage, an entanglement can go so far as to compromise the respective development of the poor tree victims. Sometimes it is not possible to save both trees and a selection must be made. When this decision is simple and obvious, because one tree is clearly favored over the other, for its ornamental qualities, because it is the younger, more robust, etc., this kind of criteria, then, no problem. But when you like the two big plants more or less equally, then it is very difficult to get out of such a dilemma. In this case, too, it is advisable to call on our team of specialists.
